Well the 2022 Smart WFM Australian Business Book Awards are well and truly open – and the entries are pouring in.The awards are open to anyone who has written and published a business related non fiction book in Australia between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.
You’ve got until Friday, August 26th (COB) to get your entry in. All of the details and entry conditions can be found on the main website.

If you write ANYTHING – and you want people to actually read it – watch this 15 minute TED talk.
Now based on what Jim Vanderhei says, most people won’t watch this TED talk – even if their job depended on it. I watched at 3.50am this morning – and it is going to change so much of what I do!
To find out how to actually get people to read what it is you write, we need to know what the data tells us – and rethink how much we are trying to say. This is fascinating – and really important.
There are some valuable key point learnings in here – and a great “HOW TO” section at the end. And the book, Smart Brevity: The Power of Saying More with Less, comes out in September 2022. Mine is ordered.

The company that I buy my mailers from is called Package Mate. It’s run by a fella called Greg – he’s super helpful. I buy them in lots of 500 which costs about $880 – making them pretty affordable. You don’t need any more packaging, or tape, or padding. And they store flat – so they don’t take up much room. Anyway, check our Package Mate, and up your packaging game when it comes to shipping your books.

Had the great opportunity to co-host an episode of Kochie’s Business Builders in Sydney yesterday. This is my third session of filming for the show over the past few months – more to come next year.
Was very cool to share the studio with Katrina McCarter – and of course, regular Tracy Sheen was there last week, so I just missed her.
Kochie was his charming self – gave my book a great plug. Not sure when this episode will air but I’ll let you know.
